Über vier Monate ist es her, seit Valve eine Aktualisierung für Counter-Strike 1.6 veröffentlicht hat, weshalb diese schon als Raritäten angesehen werden können.

Valve beseitigt mit diesem Patch den "Russian Walking" Exploit der es Spieler ermöglichte sich in Laufgeschwindigkeit lautlos fortzubewegen. Weitere Änderungen beeinflussen das Spiel lediglich serverseitig. So wurde unter anderem der Fehler behoben, der Spieler wegen eines ungültigen Steam Tickets vom Server kickte und Gamer können nun den Server nicht mehr mittels einer speziellen Zeichenfolge während des Verbindungsaufbaus aufhängen.

Das Update wird wie gewohnt automatisch von Steam heruntergeladen.
